I recently got into roll printing again. My teacher had taught it a few classes ago, but it's not grabbed me too much, until recently. Roll printing is basically pressing a pattern into a softened piece of metal. In this case I've used a rolling mill to help press the pattern into my metal. I tried it out on some scrap copper and loved it so much I did it to some silver! Below it the silver sheet I ran through the rolling mill. The pattern is from a "cupcake crown". It's paper so it washes off when all pressed into the metal. The result is a really cool piece of textured metal to play with! I decided to turn them all into earrings. I sawed them out, filed them smooth and then tumbled them to help harden the metal. To see a peak of how they turned out scroll down below or head on over the Earrings Section of my store now ;D
After tumbling around, I threw them all into a liver of sulfur bath and got a bit of patina on them. After adding beads to the copper pairs and handmade ear-wires to all of them, they're ready for new homes! One pair already sold! You can see more photos of these earrings in my Online Store.
